I believe this truck is a 1944. It was rebuilt 5/14/59 at the US Army Log
Depot in Japan. It still has these data plates on the dash. It does not
however have the original date of delivery stamped on them. Very nice project
truck. Rust in the front right tool box which is typical for late 12V trucks.
The battery is in this box. The only other rust is on the drivers seat,
pictured. I have located a front bumper and will install it when it comes
in. The engine runs great. Some smoke, but I don't think it is a problem.
This engine sat for a long time before I brought it back to life. 40 psi
oil pressure at idle and close to 60 at higher rpms. All new gauges, speedo,
choke and throttle cables, battery cables, upper chassis harness, ignition
harness, exhaust system, NOS front drive shaft, new fuel lines and hoses,
fuel filter element, fan belt, spark plugs, fuel pump radiator hoses. It
will need brakes and a new inner windshield frame. I will throw in a NOS
lower chassis harness. Engine compartment is correct and the 12V 55A generator
and regulator are functioning well.
