In the summer of 2008, I posted a letter in Army Motors looking for parts
for my Long Tom. I received an email from a man by the name of Larry Hanke.
Although he didn't have any parts for me, he included these photos in the
email. He gave me permission to share them with you. He received them from
his father before he passed away. His father was the first sergeant of this
firing battery. They were originally the general support battalion for the
32nd Division Artillery of the Wisconsin National Guard. Due to the range
of the guns, his battalion was sent to Europe while the rest of the 32nd
division went to the Pacific. As a Corps Artillery General Support unit,
they were involved in the North African Campaign and then up through the
boot of Italy. Thanks Larry, for sharing these great photos.
